We've heard that some people are having difficulty securing accommodations in Sydney. There are rooms available in Sydney and the general area and to help you find your accommodations, we now have an Accommodations Assistant, Linda, ready to help you. Within 30 minutes of Sydney, you may wish to stay in North Sydney, Glace Bay, or Louisbourg. For all other accommodations on the Island, please go to NovaScotia.com.

Getting Here

By Land
Cape Breton Island can be easily reached by land, air or sea. Highways from all points in the United States and Canada join the Trans Canada Highway from New Brunswick into Nova Scotia. This highway leads directly to Cape Breton Island.

By Air
Air Canada and WestJet both offer direct flight service from Toronto to Sydney during the festival time period. Air Canada, WestJet, Continental, Delta, American Airlines, Porter, Sunwing and United provide regular service to Halifax, Nova Scotia from a number of North American and European centres, with connecting flights to Sydney.

By Sea
For U.S. and central Canada visitors, enjoy a mini cruise from Maine to Nova Scotia on The Cat, from either Bar Harbor or Portland to Yarmouth.

Newfoundland visitors can travel to Cape Breton Island by Marine Atlantic with departures from Port-aux-Basques or Argentia to North Sydney.
